Meaning..

Ziji is a Tibetan word meaning radiance, brilliance and confidence. This confidence embodies the inherent radiance of the human heart, which naturally extends to others. Ziji is a sign that we trust our own being, which allows us to embrace life fully. 

How..

The label emerged after Ziji owner, Rikki-lee, experienced her first Rainbow Serpent Festival in Melbourne. She was both awe-struck and inspired by this adult playground of radical expression and deep human connection. She was soon attending any ‘bush doof’ she could get to and creating costumes with any and every leopard print item she could get her paws on.

Why..

Our first product ~ our Ziji Belt Bag ~ was created in response to this festival enthusiast’s need for the perfect hands-free festival bag. Rikki-lee couldn't find a bumbag that was both feminine + sleek and could also fit her essentials, so she set about creating her own.

Designed with movement, practicality and style in mind, our bags are the perfect companion for long warm days spent dancing in dusty fields. With limbs unrestricted, Ziji bags invite bold expression, saucy adventure and hassle free dance floor FUN. Each of our bags are hand-crafted and built to last. Once a Ziji bag is part of your festival tool kit, it will serve you for many seasons to come.

 Our sequin products were designed by Rikki-lee, originally for her personal wardrobe, when she noticed a gap in the Australian market for comfortable, high quality, sparkly festival wear. Our collection has slowly evolved alongside Rikki-lee's festival wear needs, as well as requests from our beautiful Ziji community.

Each piece has been thoughtfully designed and is individually hand-sequinned with love.

~ The first samples of Ziji Hot Pants were tried and tested by my gorgeous sisters at Rainbow Serpent Festival '19. 

For both our sequinned items and our leather bags, we work closely with our beloved tailors; creating in small quantities with a production process that is both slow & intentional.
